DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Trainer/QAD will be responsible for developing and delivering training, and conducting quality assurance reviews of home energy auditors, audits and contractors. Assist in preparation and continuous improvement of training presentations and manuals. Training venues will include both classroom and field settings. Manage class experience, track training participation and quality improvement. Provide quality assurance for residential energy audit program, reviewing auditor performance to program standards, including desk review of software analysis and field observation of audits. Some travel required. Respond timely to phone and email correspondence. Assist in obtaining or maintaining accreditation of training by RESNET and continuing education credit as appropriate. Work cooperatively with staff, program participants and outside contractors.

EDUCATION/TRAINING QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience. RESNET certifications as Home Energy Rater, and Quality Assurance Designee/Trainer. Coursework, training or research in building science.

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of two years experience as a RESNET certified Quality Assurance Designee/Trainer. Adult education experience preferred.

|
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED
- Clear written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of building science; whole house performance assessment; operation and calibration of performance testing equipment and diagnostic tools; and basic construction math
- Thorough knowledge of RESNET Technical Standards
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations
- Ability to organize technical material for presentation
- Ability to demonstrate proper use of test equipment and tools
- Strong computer skills, including facility with MS Office components Word, PowerPoint and Excel; HERS rating software. CAD and additional energy modeling software preferred.
