Texas HERO continually strives to provide the highest quality training while keeping the cost affordable. It offers a wide variety of training for individuals interested in becoming certified Home Energy Raters, Texas HERO Certified Energy Auditors, Field Inspectors, or for companies participating in utility programs.

Trainings offered by Texas HERO
This 2 day course (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) covers the Texas Home Energy Audit, a comprehensive energy audit program developed by Texas HERO. It is designed for current HERS Raters who are interested in pursuing the existing homes market. Current certification as a HERS Rater is required prior to attending this course. This course includes training on how to prioritize improvement recommendations based upon findings, software analysis, writing scopes of work and combustion safety testing. This course includes both lecture and field work.
This course is Texas Home Energy Audit Standard specific. The test is a 2-hour written exam, multiple, choice, open resource (standard and course material). The students will jointly perform an audit on an example home, observing the performance combustion safety tests being conducted. Students will then perform software analysis and produce scopes of work for the home as well.
This course is designed for all contractors that are interested in whole house diagnostic training and/or those participating in a utility Residential Standard Offer Program. The course will cover:
